Casey Grimes: Physical Education

Casey has been the PE Teacher at Sharon since 2020.  He attended Norwich University and received his BS in Business Management in 2004.  He went back to Norwich for a PE degree and got his teaching license after his 3rd semester and has been teaching ever since.  He has taught at Main Street MS in Montpelier, Brookfield Elementary, Randolph Union MS/HS, Stockbridge Elementary, Rochester Elementary and presently at The Newton School and Sharon Elementary.  He also helps run Central Vermont Football Club and coach 2 teams within the club: U16 Boys and U19 Girls.  He also coaches the women’s Soccer team at Vermont Technical College.  He has a wonderful wife Leslie Wisdom, a daughter Wilder 17, a son Hudson 15, a Golden named Casco and a cat named Loveygirl, Cat, and/or Tigress. Meg Hopkins: Librarian

Ms. Hop is the School Librarian and STEM teacher. She has been teaching at Sharon Elementary since 2007. She taught Fourth grade for twelve years before transitioning into the Library in 2019. Ms. Hop has a BA from Salisbury University and a MEd from New England College. Most recently she received her School Library Endorsement through UVM. She lives in the Upper Valley with her husband and two sons. She loves reading, hockey, hunting, social justice and learning new things. You can reach Ms. Hop at mhopkins@wrvsu.org.

Tanya Libby: Art Teacher

Tanya Libby has been teaching elementary art for grades K-6 at Sharon Elementary since 2021 as well as Westshire and Samuel Morey Elementary schools in the Rivendell Interstate School District since 2018. She teaches at AVA Gallery and Art Center in Lebanan during the summer weeks. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Art Education K-12 from Elmira College in upstate New York in 2002. She resides in Chelsea with her husband, two boys and a multitude of fuzzy friends. She is an artist who also loves to do all things creative! Magellan Helm: Performing Arts & Music
Magellan

Magellan Helm grew up singing and dancing in Ferguson, MO. They studied Musical Theater at Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburg and  Early Music and Voice Performance at the Oberlin Conservatory in Ohio before completing a BA in History and a BME in Music Education from the University of Kansas. Since moving to the Upper Valley in 2014 Magellan has taught Music at Crossroads Academy in Lyme NH and Long Term Subbed for Music teachers at Thetford Academy, Hartford High, Westshire Elementary and Samuel Morey in Rivendell. From 2018-2020 they were president of Seven Stars Arts Center.  As a founding member of the social justice choir, Voices 21c Magellan toured France, Israel and the Palestinian territories of the West Bank.  They continue to teach private singing and composition lessons to students K-12 at their studio in White River Junction. Magellan is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, the American Choral Directors Association and the National Association for Music Education. They live in Thetford with their husband of 25 years, a daughter, a son, two dogs, two cats, five hens and a roo.
